Julie Green, MLA for Yellowknife Centre will be hosting a news conference this afternoon to update the public and appeal for assistance in locating Sladjana Petrovic.
The conference will be held at the PSAV room upstairs at the Yellowknife Multiplex today (Jan. 3) at 1 p.m. Petrovic has been missing since Boxing Day and her friends are worried about her.
A media advisory released by Green Friday stated some of those friends, and members of the RCMP are attending the event.
"The focus of the news conference is to appeal to Sladjana to check in and the friends who are coming are Serbian speaking and can repeat that in Serbian," Green said. "We want her to know that we are worried about her and she needs medication."
Green said it is strange for a woman to go missing and be gone for eight days. There is also not a lot of information about her whereabouts because she was known to be "quiet and self-contained."
