Yellowknife Mayor Mark Heyck addressed media over the lunch hour to discuss a conduct complaint filed against him by Coun. Niels Konge.
The complaint was filed under council’s ethical principals and rules of conduct, and cosigned by Coun. Steve Payne, on Sept. 5.
Heyck told media he won’t be “bullied.”
In return, he’s filed his own complaint against Konge, cosigned by Coun. Shauna Morgan. Morgan described the situation as a “soap opera” but stressed that the complaint wasn’t personal, but rather about enforcing a standard of behavior.
“As the saying goes sometimes sunlight is the best disinfectant,” said Heyck.
