Chemotherapy services have been suspended at Stanton since late last year. It was suspended after the NTHSSA and Cancer Control Alberta agreed chemotherapy services needed to fit a higher standard.

Some patients who are receiving basic chemotherapy services will resume their treatment at the hospital, stated the release.

Not all patients will be resuming services at Stanton. Others who are receiving more intensive treatment will still travel to Edmonton. This was the case before the chemotherapy program suspension, stated the release.

A press conference will be held this morning in the lobby of Stanton hospital.
