Yellowknifers of all ages popped into the official launch of the YK Pop-Up Park, a former empty lot that's been cultivated into a community space in the city's core, Thursday evening.
Families, BBQ-lovers and longtime city residents were greeted with games, grill grub, mini-golf and more at the new park space, located between the Raven night club and the Gold Range Bistro.
Previously a stretch of gravel and concrete, the now home of the pop-up park was transformed into a colourful community space complete with a unique playground - one that led to lots of climbing Thursday - thanks to an initiative led Ecology North and the City.
