A pair of federal ministers held talks with several regional representatives during a stop in Yellowknife Tuesday afternoon.

Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett was joined by Minister of
Infrastructure and Communities Amarjeet Sohi at the Legislative Assembly for a sit down with Indigenous and community leaders.

The meeting, closed to media except for a photo-op, included members from Yellowknives Dene First Nation Youth Advisory Board Society, Fostering Open Express Among Youth (FOXY) and other NWT Youth Participants.

As for the focus of the roundtable talk, little information was released – apart from the session being touted as an "engagement discussion" in a statement by Bennett's communications team Tuesday morning.

Bennett and Sohi are set to join Gov. Gen. Julie Payette in Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk for the new all-season highway's unveiling on Wednesday.
