The City of Yellowknife has $200,000 budgeted to rehabilitate the main stage at the Folk on the Rocks site, which requires a new support and major repairs to its roof.

The city has started to review its annual budget and festival organizers are still waiting on word from the city on whether that funding will be approved, said Carly Bradley, the festival's executive producer.

“If we don't receive the funding from them, we'll definitely be filling out lots of funding applications for infrastructure programs and likely hitting a pretty hard fundraising campaign,” she said.

Stantec assessed the stage and gave an estimate of $200,000 for the repairs, said Bradley.

“We are eagerly awaiting the decision,” she said.

The budget identifies a large scale retrofit to address concerns around the integrity of the stage foundation, according to the city's budget.
