Let the battle commence
The biggest annual sporting event in the city will write its latest, greatest chapter this week at the Multiplex.
The Wade Hamer Challenge Cup, which pits Sir John Franklin against St. Pat’s in a battle for high school hockey supremacy, gets underway this Wednesday at 1 p.m.
St. Pat’s goes into both the boys and girls games as the defending champions following big wins last year. See the next edition of Yellowknifer for a preview of the big day.
More honours for athletes

There will be several awards up for grabs, including Athlete of the Year in the youth, junior and senior male and female categories, along with Team of the Year and Coach of the Year.
