The Department of Health and Social Services is asking NWT residents for input on the development of new regulations under the Tobacco and Vapour Products Control Act, which came into effect at the end of March, respecting the sale of flavoured vapour products.

“The GNWT’s legislation aims to protect residents’ health by regulating where and how vaping products can be accessed, and placing additional restrictions on the display and advertising of vaping products in the NWT,” according to a news release. “To build on these protections, the Department of Health and Social Services is working to determine the best approach to keeping vaping products out of the hands of our children and youth. We want to ensure that all NWT residents, particularly children, youth and non-smokers, are protected from the risks and harms associated with vaping.”

The department is accepting feedback until Dec. 18. You can email vaping@got.nt.ca or fill out the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DHSS-TVPCA.
