The Yellowknife M & M Food Market outlet was closed all of last week and is currently operating at reduced hours, however store employees are aiming to have the food service establishment open for regular hours soon.

Anthony Doyle, meal advisor with the Stanton Plaza-based store said on Tuesday that the store was temporarily closed all last week due to "operational issues.

"We were closed last week because of operational issues going on and open this week on shortened hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and looking to get to full hours as soon as possible," he said. He said the store reopened Monday.

Some residents raised concern about the closure on the popular Yellowknife-food related Facebook page called Bite Me Yellowknife last week. At least one resident expressed confusion when an M & M flyer reached her home.

Doyle said that members of the public provided some feedback to the store and asked questions about the closure.

NNSL Media reported in July that the store had reopened after six months of closure. It has been under the management of Tabatha Harmer.
