Some Yellowknife children are using therapy dogs as a useful learning tool.
On Saturday, T.A.I.L.S. Reading Program provided children the opportunity to practice literacy while warming up to man's best friend.
The program is run at the Yellowknife Public Library by the St. John's Ambulance program.
The children at the program enjoyed the time spent with a good book and a furry friend to boost their confidence.
“You're not just reading to a person who might not care about what you're saying,” said Keira MacLean, who was attending with her sister Kendra. “Dogs listen to us.”
