Mildred Hall receiving $750 for recycling efforts

Students at Mildred Hall received $750 in funding from Northwestel to be put toward future school projects on Thursday as a result of recycling phone books.

Students recycled 1,302 directories of the possible 2,200 that are in circulation within the NWT.

Company representative Imran Khan said Northwestel was impressed by the effort of the students.

“ We could not have been as successful without you,"  said Khan.

Minister of Education Caroline Cochrane and Mayor Mark Heyck were among the few dignitaries on hand a part of the cheque presentation.

In addition to the $750 Northwestel provided fruit to each student who donated.
