Nokleby was due to follow Perrin Beatty, a former federal Progressive Conservative cabinet minister and now president of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Nokleby had been scheduled to go on at 2 p.m. up until late Wednesday but will now be going on at about 1:15 p.m.
Beatty will now speak at about 1:30 p.m.
Perrin Beatty, president of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, left, and Katrina Nokleby, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment are scheduled to speak at tomorrow's NWT Chamber of Commerce AGM. Nokleby's speech will be take place earlier due to a last-minute caucus meeting that conflicts with her original scheduled speaking time, said Renee Comeau, executive director of the NWT Chamber of Commerce.
Renee Comeau, executive director of the NWT Chamber of Commerce, said plans to have Nokleby speak last were revised Wednesday.
"She has been scheduled down to 10 minutes and that will be happening prior to the Hon. Perrin Beatty because there's an emergency caucus meeting that now conflicts with the AGM," Comeau said, adding she didn't have details about the emergency caucus meeting.
The AGM will begin at 1 p.m. Login details to participate can be accessed through co-ordinates on the NWT Chamber website.
The GNWT Press Secretary's office stated in an email Wednesday night that there was a last minute scheduling for a meeting at the same time as Thursday's AGM, but it's not an "emergency meeting."
"Her speech length hasn’t changed from the original plan – she has been preparing to address the Chamber at the AGM for a number of weeks," stated Krystal Pidborochynski, manager of cabinet communications.
"Her speech will be posted to the GNWT newsroom website tomorrow after she has delivered it."
