Secondary and post-secondary students will compete in 19 different disciplines that range from automobile technology to video production. The competition is taking place Friday and Saturday and will finish with a closing and award ceremony Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at the Explorer Hotel.

“Everything I'm doing here, I will take as a learning lesson, learning new skills that I don't have yet, seeing where I have to work on my skills, basically just a builder of what I need to do in my career.” said Ryan Snyder, the sole participant in the outdoor power and recreation equipment competition.

The winners in each competition will have the opportunity to compete at Skills Canada's national competition in Edmonton later this year.
