The death of a man in Yellowknife Monday is being investigated by RCMP and the territory’s coroner.
Police received a call around 11:10 a.m. about an unconscious man “near an accommodation complex on Range Lake Road,” states RCMP spokesperson Julie Plourde.
NNSL Media was at the scene. Multiple police officers were observed outside Stanton Suites Hotel.
The man was transported to the nearby Stanton Territorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Foul play does not appear to have been involved, say police.
“Preliminary evidence suggests the matter is not suspicious,” Plourde told NNSL Media.
