Police seek two men after armed break-and-enter

RCMP responded to a call reporting a break and enter with a weapon at a Yellowknife residence Wednesday evening.

After responding to a call alleging a break and enter with a weapon on Wednesday evening, Yellowknife RCMP are seeking two male suspects.

A news release Thursday indicates that multiple Mounties and a police dog attended a multi-residential building – unnamed by the RCMP – at approximately 6 p.m. As a public safety precaution, officers established a perimeter around the building.

A weapon was allegedly used in the event, though there were no injuries and no arrests made.

Although the investigation is ongoing, RCMP advised there's no risk to the general public.

The two male suspects remain unidentified with no description at this time.

According to reports from the public on Facebook and from Cabin Radio, the operation took place the Yellowknife’s Sandstone and Birchwood apartment buildings on Range Lake Road opposite Ecole St. Joseph School.

The RCMP is asking anyone who may have information on the suspects or the incident to contact Yellowknife General Investigative Section (GIS) at 867-669-1111.
