This week, the city was offering a dog waste drop off bin for residents to drop their dog waste as the snow melts.

The City of Yellowknife announced today that the services at the Solid Waste Facility will be returning next week, including salvaging, fall amnesty and large item pick-up.

The municipality issued a news release stating that starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, the facility will reopen to the public with winter hours.

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 15, salvaging will return to the SWF. During SWF opening hours, from 11 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday, salvaging may take place in the Public Drop-Off area.

Fall Amnesty Days will take place at the SWF from Friday, September 11 to Sunday, Sept. 13.

During this event, the SWF will be waiving the residential tipping fee. Other tipping fees and surcharges still apply. For full details, visit www.yellowknife.ca/AmnestyDays.

Large Item Pick-Up will take place from Monday, Sept. 14 to Friday, Sept. 18. During this week, residents with regular Curbside Cart collection can have large items collected by the City free of charge.

Residents should mail, fax, email, or drop-off completed forms to the City, no later than Friday, Sept. 11, at noon to take part. For full details, and the Large Item Pick-Up forms, visit www.yellowknife.ca/LargeItemPickUp.

"For the safety of the public and SWF staff, please follow all guidelines as issued by the Chief Public Health Officer and all signage in place," a news release read.
