Search continues for man last seen in Yellowknife

FORD-MP

Yellowknife RCMP are continuing to search for missing 45-year-old Colin Ford.

Ford was last seen on Monday, Dec. 3, in the area of Kam Lake Road and Deh Cho Boulevard. Mounties issued a public appeal for assistance in locating Ford on Dec. 11.

He's described as white, 5’8”, 320 lbs., with green eyes, a heavy build, short grey and white hair and a goatee.

In last week's news release, Mounties stated they believed Ford could be in Edmonton. On Monday afternoon, Yellowknife RCMP reiterated he may have left the territory.

RCMP photo. Colin Ford, 45, has been missing since Dec. 3, but RCMP have reason to suspect he may have left the territory.

"The missing person investigation has continued and RCMP continue to follow all leads. While we cannot state specifically where Mr. Ford is, information indicates he may have left the territory," states the news release.

RCMP say they're continuing to work with police agencies in other jurisdictions as the investigation continues.

"In general, a missing person is still considered missing until local police authorities have made contact with the person and verified their identity and their well being," states Monday's release.

Anyone with further information about the whereabouts of Ford is encouraged to call Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
