Man shot in downtown Yellowknife

A shooting at a downtown Yellowknife apartment building left a man with non-life-threatening injuries, say police.

Residents heard gunshots ring out from a 53 Street Apartment building around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, prompting police to rush to the scene where they found an injured man in his 40s, states a news release from Yellowknife RCMP.

The man was transported to hospital.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning and RCMP continue to investigate.

Police believe the shooting was an “isolated incident.”
