Standoff in Kam Lake ends peacefully

There was some real tension yesterday afternoon in Kam Lake as a man barricaded himself in a trailer and would not come out for police. RCMP blocked off a section of Cameron Road near Deh Cho Blvd as officers negotiated with the man. After about three hours, the man surrendered peacefully and without incident. There was some tension Thursday afternoon in Kam Lake as a man barricaded himself inside a trailer and refused to come out for police.

RCMP blocked off a section of Cameron Road near Deh Cho Boulevard and Taltheilei Drive as officers negotiated with the man. After about three hours, the man surrendered peacefully and without incident.Coun. Niels Konge told Yellowknifer he called police after he saw a man naked in front of the trailer just after the noon hour. The man was taken to hospital. No charges will be laid.
