A 36-year-old Yellowknife woman faces a number of charges after a pick-up truck crashed into Sushi Cafe last month, causing significant damage to the Franklin Avenue business.

Kimberly Ongahak is charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and taking a vehicle without consent, stated a news release Thursday.

Police allege Ongahak was driving a white Ford F-150 pick-up truck when it crashed into the side of the sushi spot in the early hours of July 15.

RCMP seized the truck following the collision for further analysis from the G Division's Forensic Identification Section.

No one was inside Sushi Cafe at the time of the crash.

Ongahak has been released from custody and is due to appear in court on Sept. 11.
