YCS donates money to local charities

Money was raised from a staff jeans day held over the last year where faculty were able to wear jeans for a price. Superintendent Claudia Parker presented money to Mackenzie-Fort Smith Bishop Jon Hansen on behalf of the diocese and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul,..... and Corps/Church Leader Jason Brinson on behalf of the Salvation Army Yellowknife, and Nigel Moorhouse, on behalf of Yellowknife Association of Community Living. The Yellowknife Catholic Schools board provided cheque donations to community organizations Wednesday night. Money was raised from casual Friday program held over the last where where staff could wear jeans two dollars. From left, Superintendent Claudia Parker presented money to Mackenzie-Fort Smith Bishop Jon Hansen on behalf of the diocese ($2,609) and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul ($2,253); Dan Pederson, business manager and Corps/Church Leader Jason Brinson of the Salvation Army Yellowknife ($2,657), and Nigel Moorhouse, board of directors treasurer, on behalf of Yellowknife Association of Community Living ($5,881). At far right is Miles Welsh, chair of the board.
