Police in Yellowknife are looking for witnesses following a pair of suspicious vehicle fires over the weekend.

Mounties responded after two vehicles caught fire at the Aurora Heights Apartment building parking lot on Con Road at around 2:20 a.m. on Saturday.

The City of Yellowknife Fire Division attended the scene and quickly extinguished the pair of fires, which police say appear to have been set intentionally, according to a news release issued by Yellowknife RCMP on Monday.

A man was seen fleeing the area wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie, state police.

No one was injured as a result of the fires.

Police Dog Services were deployed in the area.

RCMP are now turning to the public for help.

“Yellowknife RCMP are encouraging anyone who may have noticed something in the area of Con Road early Saturday morning to come forward,” state RCMP.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Yellowknife RCMP at 867-669-1111.
