RCMP are seeking witnesses after a 16-year-old male was allegedly assaulted downtown on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say a man assaulted the youth in a parking lot near 50 Street and 51 Avenue before fleeing the area around 12:45 p.m.

The youth did not sustain injuries, according to Yellowknife RCMP.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact authorities.

The suspect is described as Indigenous, and police say he was “possibly wearing black or khaki pants,” along with a black jacket, at the time of the alleged assault.

RCMP are continuing to investigate.
