Blues artist and founder of the Powder Blues band, Willie MacCalder played to a full house at the Cellar Bar and Grill Friday.

MacCalder was joined by Yellowknife musicians Pat Braden on bass and Norman Glowach on drums. The trio played two sets of traditional blues, jazz and boogie-woogie.

MacCalder founded The Powder Blues Band in 1978 together with Tom and Jack Lavin. The group's first LP Uncut sold over 200,000 copies and the group went on to win a Juno Award in 1981, tour Canada, the U.S. and European cities and produce music for film and television.
