Alexis Christian, reported missing by Yellowknife RCMP Friday, may have been found yet no confirmation has been provided by police.
On Friday afternoon, the RCMP asked the public for assistance in locating 16-year-old Alexis Christian. Facebook posts indicate Christian has been found, including a comment at 5:59 p.m. Friday stating, “She is found safe and sound!! Thank you fb." No one associated with the post could be reached for comment.
RCMP Constable Adam Robar said no update about Christian's whereabouts could be provided until media relations personnel are available after the long weekend.
According to an RCMP news release, Alexis was reported missing 3:00 a.m. Friday. The RCMP received information Christian had left home Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. and had not returned since then. Police are describing Christian as an Indigenous female with brown hair, brown eyes, possibly wearing a blue and grey striped shirt and black leggings.
The news release stated anyone with information about Christian or her whereabouts should call the Yellowknife RCMP at 669-1111.
